Athens Luxury Hotels

Greece is full with luxury hotels for those who wish their vacation to be as comfortable and as lavish as possible. Since luxury hotels in Greece are plenty, an article discussing all of them would be quite lengthy. This discussion will therefore be limited only to the luxury hotels in the country’s capital, Athens.

For those who delight in classic luxury hotels, who prefer to have the familiar ambiance of the traditional, there’s King George II Palace. Located in the heart of Athens’ business and shopping districts, this hotel is ideal for those who are in the country to do business. But even those who are in Greece for leisure will find the hotel’s location quite convenient as this is a few minutes away from historical landmarks such as the Acropolis. A member of the Leading Hotels of the World, King George II Palace boasts of celebrities, world leaders and movie stars as its patrons. A single room costs 180 GBP during low season and 230 GBP during peak season.

Athenaeum Intercontinental AthensAnother classic luxury hotel which is a short distance away from the city’s business and financial center, as well as from famous historical monuments is the Athenaeum Intercontinental Athens. A member of the Intercontinental Hotels and Resorts, it has been named as Greece’s Leading Hotel in 2005. This hotel is one of the leading business hotels in Greece. It has the largest ballroom and the most spacious guestrooms among all the hotels in Greece. A single room could cost you 125 GBP during low season and 150GBP during high season.

A number of luxury hotels in Greece are situated on the beach, ideal for people who wish to experience the relaxing atmosphere of the sea. In Athens, there is the Divani Apollon Palace and Spa, a luxury resort hotel located on the exclusive area of Vouliagmeni. The first hotel in Greece to become a member of the Leading Hotels of the World, it boasts of a spectacular beachfront as well as state-of-the-art spa center. The price of a single room ranges from 225 GBP – 255 GBP depending on the season.

Also located on the elite area of the Athenian Riviera, the Astir Palace Vouliagmeni Hotel Complex is a sprawling 75 acres of breathtaking beauty with a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf on the Mediterranean Sea. It consists of 3 five-star resort hotels, all located on the beachside. The prices for a deluxe single room are 125 GBP and 235 GBP for low season and top season, respectively.

Aside from the classic luxury hotels, there are new luxury boutique hotels, whose environment differ from the traditional ones. In Athens, there is Fresh Hotel, which features unconventional colors in the lobby and in the rooms. The colors are unconventional in the sense that they are more vivid compared to the rather subdued hues in classic luxury hotels. Fresh Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Athens, a few minutes away from shopping and business centers. The lowest price for a room is 95 GBP.

Boutique luxury hotels are usually smaller than the large chain hotels but the service is more personal and the design a little more avant-garde. It is probably for these reasons that such luxury hotels in Greece are becoming popular. Aside from the Fresh Hotel, there is also the Art Hotel, with only 30 guest rooms and suites, yet each room are designed and furnished individually.
